Pumpkin Painting

9:54 AM

My little sister Emily and I wanted to do a fun craft on the day of Halloween, since we didn't really have any other plans. We decided it'd be fun to paint a few pumpkins instead of carving, since carving makes a pretty big mess and the pumpkins would only last a couple days.

We went to our local grocery store to pick up a few pumpkins, then headed over to Michael's craft store for some paint and brushes. We chose a color palette of white, black, gold, and copper, which turned out to be a great combination. We put them out on the front porch after and I'm sure they'll stay there til December! ;) That's the beauty of painting pumpkins though, they'll last MUCH longer.

We had such a fun time blasting music while sitting out in the backyard and crafting all through the afternoon. The pumpkins turned out soo cute, and it was nice just spending quality time together.

I'd recommend you try pumpkin painting next holiday season. It could be safer for the kids too, no knives or scary carving tools; although I'm sure they could get a little messy with the paint.

I hope you all had a happy, fun, and safe Halloween spent with your family and friends! Since I've started a challenge toward living a healthier lifestyle, I didn't eat one. single. piece. of candy or treat. It was tough, I really wanted a couple Resees and an iced coffee from Starbucks.. but I didn't do it! I was pretty proud of myself. Anyways, HAPPY HOLIDAYS! We're moving on to Thanksgiving and Christmas now! I love the Holiday season, so I am very excited.

xoxo, Heather
